Scratch Vision Boards. Create a 2025 Goal Setting Bingo Card.

There’s something timeless about bingo, isn’t there? Some of us love it, some of us hate it, but needless to say it truly is a game of chance and excitement. But what if bingo could also be a creative way to approach goal setting?

Vision Board Bingo Cards are all the rage this year and your team should hop on this trend as well. For Q1 of 2025, consider creating a Goal Setting Bingo Board—a tool that adds fun and focus to your team’s goals and achievements. This approach helps your team begin the year with a clear plan while keeping it engaging and collaborative.

Here is how your team can use a Goal Setting Bingo Board to bring new energy to planning, teamwork, and programming.

Identifying Strengths: Building Your Board Together

Every team member brings something unique to the table. Let’s take Mel, for instance. As a Life Enrichment Coordinator, Melanie’s creativity shines in seasonal decorations transforming the room to whatever the theme may be. But, logistics often leave her feeling stressed.

Then there’s Tom, the organizer, who ensures every detail—from supplies to schedules—is managed seamlessly. Together, their talents combined to create incredible events like a “Travel the World” week, complete with themed food, music, and activities.

Adding Jasmine, the connector, to the mix elevated their efforts even further. Her relationships with local musicians and storytellers introduced dynamic new experiences for residents.

For your Q1 Bingo Board, consider highlighting individual strengths with squares like:

  • “Plan a creative theme day.”
  • “Improve organization of activity supplies.”
  • “Invite a guest speaker or performer.”

Involve Your Residents

A community is made of diverse members. Maybe Clara, your resident with a passion for poetry, shared her dream of restarting a poetry club or, maybe Karl had been a woodworking instructor in the past and shared he’d love to teach again during a Town Hall.

To include residents in your Q1 Bingo planning, try:

  • Focus Groups: Ask residents what they’d love to see added to the calendar.
  • Activity Committees: Collaborate with residents to create goals like “Host a talent show” or “Plan a movie night.”
  • Flexible Scheduling: Let residents help choose the best times for activities, ensuring higher attendance.

Try adding squares like “Launch a resident-driven event” or “Gather 10 new ideas from residents”.

SMART Goals: Designing a Winning Card

Goals should be clear and actionable. SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound) goals ensure each Bingo square represents progress. Examples for Q1 could include:

  • “Increase fitness class participation by 10% by March.”
  • “Introduce one new intergenerational program by February.”
  • “Host three brainstorming sessions by the end of the quarter.”

With measurable objectives, your Bingo Board becomes a practical tool for tracking success and celebrating milestones.

Encouraging Growth: Stepping Out of Comfort Zones

Trying something new can lead to unexpected rewards. Maybe you’re hesitant to try something truly outside your comfort zone—like organizing an improv comedy workshop or hosting a live cooking demonstration for residents and staff.

Encourage your team to add goals that push boundaries, like:

  • “Lead an unfamiliar activity.”
  • “Partner with a new community organization.”
  • “Explore a new technology for programming.”

Recognize and celebrate these efforts to inspire continued exploration.

Regular Check-Ins: Staying on Track

Goal setting isn’t a one-time task. Use your Q1 Bingo Board to guide monthly check-ins:

  • Celebrate Wins: Mark off completed squares and share successes.
  • Reflect: Discuss what’s working and where adjustments are needed.
  • Plan Forward: Use insights to prepare for the next quarter.

For example, a completed row could earn the team a special treat, like a lunch outing, an afternoon off to recharge or a gift from Snappy – all made easier in the Go Icon Employee Recognition App.

When everyone contributes to the Bingo Board, everyone can feel a sense of accomplishment. Residents feel heard, staff feel valued, and your community benefits from a sense of shared purpose.

As you kick off 2025, let your Q1 Goal Setting Bingo Board bring structure and excitement to your team’s plans. Fill the board with meaningful, achievable goals that unite your team and inspire growth. Who knows—by the end of the quarter, you might just hear a resounding “Bingo!” from everyone involved.

Here is a guide as to how you could incorporate these goals into your Q1:

    • In February, celebrate Valentine’s Day or Lunar New Year.
    • In March, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
  2. Increase overall attendance by 15% by end of Q
    • Use an electronic attendance tracker to ensure your data is correct.
    • Try a buddy system to encourage residents who don’t actively participate to attend programs.
    • Make sure all of your programming is clearly communicated on electronic boards, on your Community app, on your family app and through posters.
  3. Plan an intergenerational program 1x/Q
    • Host a Valentine’s Day card making program with a local daycare.

    • Have your residents pair up as a reading buddy for Dr. Seuss’ Birthday.
  4. Implement weekly mindfulness programs 1x/week
    • Offer cozy meditations with reclining chairs, blankets and facemasks.
