About The Role

We are looking for a driven, smart Director level Controller/Finance professional that will manage the every day financial activities of the business and provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.

The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.

This is a hands-on role handling the month-end close with the proven financial experience to take ownership of those functions too.

Controller Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

  • Focus on all daily and month-end accounting procedures for the account results, including P&L activity, balance sheet activity, accounts receivable /cash application in compliance with GAAP

  • Coordinate strategic financial plan process for both the client and corporate, including expenses, income, insurance coverage, objectives, tax status, risk tolerance, or other elements to build a strategy.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance, including SaaS sales tax requirements.

  • Work with accounting firm in preparation of partnership tax filings.

  • Respond to investor auditor requests for information.

  • Maintain the financial health of the organization.

  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.

  • Track SaaS financial metrics such as Recurring Revenue, Churn, Net Retention, LTV / CAC.

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.

  • Liaison with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained and to complete annual audit.

  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external monthly financial statements, as well as investor, lender, and board reporting materials.

  • Ensure covenant compliance under creditor agreement. Complete and submit quarterly compliance certificate filings.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/accounting or related field.

  • CPA license.10-15 years of work experience in a finance and accounting capacity.

  • Experience building teams, and improving processes.

  • Experience in M&A purchase accounting and consolidating financials of consolidated businesses.

  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.

  • Experience in SaaS accounting practices (Revenue Recognition, Deferred Revenue…etc.)

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, and other financial planning software.
